No Work No Pay

Our Member of Parliaments make Constitutional Bills in our Parliament Sansad, It's an urge of every Indian today to all of these Parliamentarians to make a bill for themselves  "No Work  No Pay".
In our country it is tough to get a job , it's not easy. You got to make through a cut throat competition. In spite of Globalisation, unemployment has increased drastically. Job is obtained by different - different medium. At some places the employee's needs are taken care of. Facilities of health care, provident fund, bonus, maternity-leave,  pension etc are taken care of. Whereas at some places people just get daily wages while some not even the full money even after doing the entire task. A very large part of population survives by working on contract basis. But wherever you get job, it is always assumed that you will not be paid for doing nothing i.e No Work No Pay. From 9th of November, our Parliamentarians aren't working so why are they getting pay and allowance.

What happened on 9th of November was repeated same today also. Parliament was unable to run. Opposition is demanding for making a Joint Parliamentary Commission for Adarsh Housing Scam, CWG Scam and 2G - Spectrum Scam but Government is not ready for it. Every two days Government and Opposition have meetings but Parliament is not running. Neither the Government is ready to step back nor is the Opposition. The highest loss is being bear  by the tax payers due to adjournment of Parliament sessions.
  • An amount of 26,000 INR is spent on each Minute of Parliamentary Activity
  •  For one hour the above amount sums to 14 Lakh INR
  • A Full Day seesion takes 1 crore 55 Lakh INR
Parliament runs or not this amount is spent in any case. None of the Parliamentarian are bothered about this issue  because what pay they are "so called eligible" to get they will get in any circumstances.
Lets have look on the pay scale of these Nation builders
  • 50,000 INR as Basic Pay per month
  • During the time Parliament is running they get an allowance of 2000 INR daily
  • 45,000 INR as Constituency Allowance per month
  • 45,000 INR for Offical Expenses per month
  • 20,000 INR  per month is the Pension for parliamentarians
545 members in Lok Sabha and 245 members in Rajya Sabha, so you can imagine the expenses on these big people. Why there is no rule for them regarding  "No Work  No Pay" or may be creating a ballyhoo inside Sansad  is also a kind of work. Even after creating such a scene their allowance is guaranteed. Till all the parliamentarians reach the House, the session is already adjourned and they just need to sign on the attendance register to confirm their allowance. Due to this same trend Parliament was not able to run more than 30 hours during the first 8 days of the Budget session. Similarly in 41 hrs during Monsoon session  and 81 hours during Winter session were spent without any work. As per the norms, every year Parliament should run for minimum of 100 days but this is never achieved. Last year it ran for 64 days, for 48 days in 2004 and 46 days in 2008. The running period is decreasing slowly. In 50s and 60s it used to run for minimum 130 hours. In  1956 it ran for a 151 hours. As Parliament is getting constantly adjourned , 23 Bills of public interest are in pending state for approval. Few of those important Bills are :
  • Right for free and compulsory education for children amendment Bill
  • Women Reservation Bill
  • Prevention of Torture bill
  • The Waqf Amendment bill
Eight new bill are to be presented and discussed. Important among them are
  • Land Acquisition Bill
  • The Rehabilitation and Resettlement  Bill
  • Wild Life Protection Amendment Bill
  • The Bill to stop sexual harassment against Women in offices
  • Enemy Property Bill
But if the scenario continues then what will happen to these bills and what is the cure of this situation. These lawmakers definitely should make a law for themselves for No Pay when No Work. On the day parliament is adjourned then the allowances is cancelled and the equivalent salary is also deducted. To stop the parliamentary activity make be a democratic right but continuously interrupting the session doesn't make a  sense. there should be someone appointed who should be made responsible for such consistent adjournments.

If we look at the Opposition we can see there is no control from the high command. For instance on the order of Congress High Command within a period of few weeks two Chief Ministers were forced to abdicate their posts and new persons were appointed at their positions. On the other hand BJP High command have been frustrated and tired  by consistent shouting at their Chief Ministers but not even a stone was unturned whether it was Vasundhara Raje Scindia or it was Babulal Marandy or the current Karnatka CM Yeddurappa ; these people never care of the committee sitting in Delhi. If such is the potential of highest committee of the Opposition; how can they be expected to control their parliamentarians from wasting the House's precious time and public money.

The money which these parliamentarians are wasting comes from the tax paid by every Indian citizen who never gets the luxurious facility of Pay Without Work. It is their hard earned money. If the parliamentarians have a slightest respect for their Nation they have to break the impasse of adjournment of the Parliament for the interest of nation else Parliament will loose it's meaning  and the House that stand for the dignity of democracy will become the House of shame for democracy.

A Sincere Victory

After watching today's mandate, to say that the People of Bihar have spoken would be an understatement. They have yelled , shouted and with one unanimous resounding voice. A voice that cuts cast, religion and class. Nitish Kumar and company have marked a remarkably huge victory. Remarkable because Bihar has never seen an election like this before. A campaign that was remarkably mature because there was no populism , no ridiculous promises like free this, free that e.g. free rice, free electricity, loan waivers. The victory was based on solid substantive campaign. A water-shed election because it shows that in India you won election based on development  and progress. Good governance is good for elections in India. No longer the Indian Voter is interested in the divisive politics of cast and religion. A Water-Shed Election for Bihar and for India. It was an election that gives us hope.

Recently I checked a report by a Mumbai NGO that stated that Mumbai's four top pharmaceutical companies and two security agencies have more than 25 thousand Biharis working in them. From Noida everyday more than thousand money orders are sent to different regions in Bihar; remember money is send on daily basis. The State running on this Money Order Economy has once again selected Nitish Kumar with a hope that at last such a Bihar will be established with a potential and reputation that will bring back the natives who have left their families and lands in search for jobs.

In the last five year lots of accomplishments have been bagged by Nitish Kumar.
  • In four years around 1600 small and big bridges have been constructed
  • When India was facing recession during that time in Bihar, the automobile market grew by 45%
  • Economic growth climbed to 11%
  • Law and Order improved a lot that brought life to the business
  • As business started growing new Hotels, restaurants were open and Telecom sector made their entry
  • Roads were made longer. In 2005 there were just 384km of roads which stretched to 3475 km in the year 2010.
  • Land Reform Commission was set in Bihar which is trying to distribute the land ethically.

No doubts these jobs brought Nitish Kumar a humongous victory but this victory has brought up new challenges and greater benchmarks to set too.
  • 55% of Bihar population lives below the poverty line
  • Per capita income is extremely low i.e. Rs 13,959 yearly whereas India's per capita income is more than thrice of that figure which is Rs 44,345
  • Bihar suffers from extreme scarcity of electricity
  • Due to lower electric supplies neither the factories can run nor do the agricultural lands be irrigated.

Nitish Kumar has full five year from now to construct the building whose strong base he had already developed. How much have Bihar transformed the glimpse can be seen from Patna. Maurya Lok area in Patna looks no less than Vasant Vihar of Delhi. Frazer Road competes with Delhi's Connaught Place. A revolving restaurant has been opened in Patna where one needs referral to have seats there. But Patna is not the scale of the entire Bihar but the way Nitish Kumar got his mandate from every corner of Bihar, it seems everyone wants development like Patna and to accomplish this very reason Nitish Kumar have been awarded another five year term.

It's true this state has suffered the neglect of Central Government from decades but this mandate will empower the state's governing body to claim boldly now. An important aspect of Bihar is that it is one of the most politically dynamic region of the countries. It can create political  trends. In National Politics, the position of Nitish Kumar will heighten now which has more or less has become BJP branded or Congress Branded and may be there's a chance that Nitish Kumar might emerge as a pivotal player for Third Front in future.

Another remarkable thing that came into light in Bihar's election which was Female participation
Though Female Candidates have won at less places but in terms of giving votes, female voters have surpassed their males companions by registering their mass presence at polling booths . Among total female voters 54.44% marked their presence on the day of voting while 51.11% of male voters casted their votes. This change happened for the first time and it became possible because  there were tight arrangements during elections. All six phases of election went without any trouble except a couple of minor offences. In Bihar such thing happens very less. The Day Dreamers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Ram Vilas Paswan have been swept away by the current mandate and this might mark the end of their political career. Condition of Congress is also not good , the rallies of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were attended by masses with exceptional enthusiasm but that never got converted into votes. Biggest result was the humongous mandate which Nitish Kumar might not even have dreamt of.

This time the election were no doubt historical , mandate is also historical and such a large mandate has it's own issues and risks. The victorious MLAs will have all high hopes for being ministers. They would also hope to become chairman in Government Bodies and Corporations. After it's fabulous victory BJP also will not sit with no desire; they too will want their share in the governance that means that in the absence of opposition there is a risk of internal battles in JDU and BJP allies over the division of portfolios in coming future. Nitish Kumar should remain alert with this situation. Overall the Bihar State Assembly Elections 2010 Results are historical and is welcomed by all for the goodwill of future.

Bihar and Chhath

To us festivals are not like festivals they are like carnivals which are enjoyed by those also who have no connection with that festival. We have grown up watching Holi, Dusherra and Diwali as carnivals. Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated by only Marathis, Durga Puja by Bengalis and Dandi Garba was played only by Gujratis. Onam and Pongal were South Indian festivals only. Today in big cities this is not the picture. Even if all the rituals can't be completed but everyone used to participate in the carnival of festivals of various regions. Very soon a new name is going to be added in the list of festivals celebrated in big cities which the Chhath Festival which stands for the identity of Bihar. The motto behind this festival is the prayer for well being of the  family. Gautam Budhha, Mahavira, Valmiki, Ashoka, Aryabhatta, Chanakya, Guru Govind Singh, Nalanda University and the list goes on. These are the contibution to the nation and to the world by Bihar  which makes us feel proud but nowadays when Bihar is refered then they are never discussed. The discussion always happens which is concerned with Bihar's Politicians; even though of their presence the Bihari population have to go to outside Bihar leaving their family and home in search of jobs. Now the discussions about Bihar are shifting to Chhath Festival which is the truly represents this state. Chhath Festival in all aspects is an alldifferent festival. It is an arduous observance, requiring the worshipers to fast without water for around 36 hours continuously. The country which runs with the rise of the Sun also celebrates Chhath in which setting Sun is also worshipped in which water and milk are offered as oblation to the Sun which is considered as a visible God.

Chhath is among those few festivals which still haven't been changed by the market till date. Six days after Diwali which has been now completely metamorphosed by market and companies,  the Chhath Festival comes which still has the ethinic smell of the east and has remained safe from corporate colorization. During this festival a basket which is called Daura, is made ready which contains one or more Sup (household item made from bamboo for winnowing) which contains fruits and prasad (edible offerings) among which the most important is sugarcane, guava, a big lemon which is locally called Gagar. The sugarcane is erected in the soil and is decorated with glowing lamps from all side. One day the setting sun is worshipped in which water is offered (Aragh) and the next day the rising sun is worshipped in which milk is offered . The new changes to Chhath is may be the replacement of Sharda Sinha songs to new singers but apart from that everything is intact.
Spreaded all across the nation for bread and butter, the Bihari Population tries to reach their native home at the time of Chhath and if they are not able to reach Bihar they create a small Bihar whereever they are present. They clean river banks and ponds bringing back the real colour and ambience to the stagnant and flowing water bodies. Chhath is not only an annual festival of Bihar but it is also an ideal exemplar of the delicate but strongly bonded relationship of Bihari population and the Bihar state. This relationship tells that if the masses would have got jobs at home then why would have they left their homes, why would they have been bearing the bad-mouth of fanatics like Raj Thakrey, why would they have been bearing the insults when they attend entrance exams for jobs at other states.

But when Bihari poiliticians weren't able to provide the sources of income then the masses had to leave their home. Their condition is exactly like those Indian who are living for years in abroad for their bread but still have their heart right in the motherland which still cries for the India. The important thing that comes out is that culture also flows together with the rivers carrying the dust and soil of the society with the alterations of time. This culture has also flown with the rivers all across the nation and is sparkling with the gleaming lamps of Chhath. Also a very significant message is conveyed that civilization travels and so are the memories because they remains alive by this and take constant rebirths in different places. In Bihar where a lot of disorder and destruction has been done in past few decades, the festival of Chhath is trying to integrate it strongly as well as gradually bridging it with newer connections as well.

Before I end this entry; one special sweet i.e. made in this festival is Thekua. I can bet it's the Indian competition to the American Cookies and I returned from home with a big jar of that.

Obama is not our Mama

Obama mentioned Pakistan in Indian Parliament and the members broke into rapturous applause. Lots of Indians had a huge expectation that when Obama will arrive he will give strict warning to Pakistan, he will do this ; he will do that but none happened. Actually the expectation were totally faulty because we think the root of the trouble is Pakistan as it the the epicenter of the Terrorism while America thinks that the problem can be solved with the help of Pakistan. Thus, what we consider as a problem is considered as a solution and the fix by America. These two stands are completely contrary and divergent to each other. President Obama is not our Mama who will visit us, bringing sweets and toys for us and will not ask for anything in return.

American President Barack Obama delivered a strict message for Terrorists and hosts of Terrorism . this message was for Pakistan . for the first time Obama was seen so strict to Pakistan but there was a cyclone in India Media . The Cyclone originated due to Obama's Visit. From the past one week there was no news except for Obama's news but on the contrary this visit is neither seems very important for America nor do so important for India

India is going to buy ten C-17 planes due to which 22000 people in America will get jobs but America is an economy of 14 trillion dollars while India is of just 1.3 trillions. For America this 10 billion deal is like a small cumin seed in the mouth of a camel or in other words like a drop in America's bucket. In return we will get aids to control diseases and some equipments for meteorological department. For a nation like India this is also like small cumin seed then what's the importance of this visit ?

He is the 6th American President to visit India. First it was Eisenhower in Dec 1959, next Richard Nixon in July 1969, third Jimmy Carter in Jan 1978 then after 22 years in March 2000 Bill Clinton gave a visit to India. Last visit was of George W. bush in March 2006. All these five visit were substantially important for both the nations but nothing significant can be extracted out of Obama visit except of faith and strong condemnation.

American list of goodies to be sold to India

  • Around 145 Howitzer Gun barrels of worth 360 Billion rupees

  • Cluster Bombs of worth 40 billion rupees

  • Air-to-Air refueling aircrafts of worth 90 billion rupees

  • Around 125 fighter planes of worth 495 billion dollars

If above deal happens then America will get billions of dollars and jobs for millions. America strongly allege other countries for stealing the jobs of its citizens but Obama is visiting every other nation to increase employment opportunities in his own nation because this is his compulsion, this is America's compulsion. World's Inspector The United States of America is losing its grip in terms of commerce and military strength. "America needs all kinds of help from developing countries like India and this is the message conveyed by Obama's visit."

America is tensed regarding reducing employment rate. Every three months a report is made to track the unemployment rate by the American Government. India too have unemployment problem. Leave three month  report, we neither see unemployment as a agenda in Electoral campaigns nor our politicians show any matter of concern regarding this issue. Whenever there is some issue for American citizen, the American Government stands for them but can the same be stated for our nation too ? In reality we are progressing fast but we are far away behind America and it will take a considerable time to reach to that level. So it's very important to keep India's stand before a Mighty Nation without losing dignity and respect; Gladly, Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh did the same.

Dr. Manmohan Singh delivered a strong notion in his humble style and World’s mightiest President Barack Obama was listening every word. Obama admitted in Mumbai that Pakistan’s stability if very important and India has no doubt about it. India considers that stability of Pakistan depends upon three things; strong democracy, weak military and weaker ISI.

America never gets these considerations or may be it mocks before India of not understanding the considerations clearly. May be this is because Pakistan has become a necessary evil for America.
US Government knows how dangerous Pakistan can be, so they have a policy to handle it that includes
always maintaining a good raport with Pakistan because America needs Pakistani Army for Afghanistan War.
But friendship with Pakistani means to bear the continuous blackmailing from Pakistani Army. From the past few years Pakistani Army have taken 90 billion dollar for support expenses. The Pakistani Army give a detailed bill of the military expenses to the American officials and they make payments on account of it, The bills and vouchers are forged to that extent that almost 70% payments are for fake expenses. Pakistani Army is making money in the name of support expenses not only from America but from few Muslim nations too.

Pakistan is a Nuclear Nation so it is pretty easy for it to ask for any illegitimate support money for peace keeping. India never fears Pakistan but for Obama and America, Pakistan is a matter where they are always in the state of helplessness. So India has to understand that Obama can’t speak freely against Pakistan like a free Indian citizen. It makes no sense to expect that America will crush Pakistan or give a threatening to stop terrorism. This is our war which we have to fight it ourselves only and there is no alternatives to it  . Obama might not be against Pakistan directly but he is against terrorism. Pakistan neither listen a word nor it cares because this is what Pakistani Army wants and we know this fact very well. Dr Manmohan Singh’s notion stated our stand clearly before Pakistan and also told America that we get the jobs in America because of our talent and accomplishments; we never steal jobs. Prime Minister's stand was firm and clear even if the man standing next to him was the President of United States of America.

From Past one week ; India is obsessed with Obama. Obama in breakfast, Obama in lunch and Obama in dinner. I surfed through American newspapers and News Channels, they are not giving so hype to this visit as compared to what Indian Media is dispalying. It’s a big news Cyclone for Indian media. But good thing is that this cyclone was limited to Media only and not to our national lives. Our life went on in the same way as it was going before Obama. Nothing changed at all. Everything went on exactly like as it was before : Officers tried to escape work from Government offices exactly like before and there were same traffic jams, students were again attending their schools and colleges, Big Boss once again continued delivering TRP crap to our drawing rooms, last year Diwali gifts were exchanged yet again with new packing wrappers exactly like before and I am back to blogging yet again.

Ideas for India

After finishing Imagining India by Nandan Nilenkani, I was highly influened with the concept of India being seen through the evolution of ideas and it’s an interesting way because in an open democratic society whenever ideas are rooted then comes the change . Ideas turn into Ideologies and Ideologies lead to action and this is how things start going. This blog post is the gist of this book with the concern about the Ideas changing India.

In 1930 Great Depression happened which led to all the ideas of the establishing the state and that of social security. In the 1980s we had yet another change, which was of deregulation. And today, after the global economic crisis, we have worked out and are devising new set of ideas to deal with it next time. So ideas are linked with changes.

As Nandan Nilenkani expresses in his book that India is governed by four kind of Ideas. The first is what is mentions as "Ideas that have arrived." These are the ideas which have brought together something which has made India happen the way it is today. The second type of ideas are "Ideas in progress". These are the ideas which have been accepted but not implemented properly. The third set of ideas are called "Ideas in battle" i.e. ideas in which we have arguements, an ideological battleabout how to implement the things. And the fourth kind of and the most important one "Ideas to anticipate" when you are a developing country in the world then you can see the problems of the other countries and anticipate those other countries did differently and successfully.

" Ideas that have arrived "

Nilenkani believe that there are six ideas which are responsible for India where it has come today. The first is the notion of people. In early decades after Independence India considered people as burden, as a liability. Today the scenario has drastically changed ; we talk of people as an asset, as human capital. And this change in the mindset has been one of the fundamental changes in the Indian mindset and it is linked to the fact that India is going through a demographic dividend. As healthcare improves, as infant mortality goes down, fertility rates start dropping which India is experiencing right now. India is going to have a lot of young people with a demographic dividend for the next 30 years. And what’s unique about this demographic dividend is that India will be the only country in the world to have this demographic dividend or we can say it will be the only young country in an aging world. If you take a closer look at demographic dividend in India there are actually two demographic curves. One that describes South and West of India, which is already going to be fully expensed by 2015 because there the fertility rate is almost reaching to that of a West-European countries then there is the whole North India, which is going to be the bulk of the future demographic dividend. But a demographic dividend is only as good as the people are getting education, have good health, have roads to go to work, they have lights to study at night only in those cases can you really get the benefit of a demographic dividend. Simply you can say if you don't really invest in the human capital, the same demographic dividend can be a demographic disaster and India is at a critical point where either it can leverage its demographic dividend or it can lead to a demographic disaster.

The second thing in India has been the change in the role of entrepreneurs. When India got independence entrepreneurs were seen as a bad lot and as that group who exploit. But today, after 63 years, because of the rise of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs have become role models and they are contributing hugely to the society.

The third big thing that has changed India is our attitude towards the English Language. With the arrival of globalization, with outsourcing, English has become a language of aspiration and a strategic asset which was considered as a language of imperialists.

The next thing is Technology. 40 years back, computers were seen as something which was forbidding, intimidating, something that kills jobs. India is a nation which sells more than 8 million mobile phones a month, of which 90% of those mobile phones are prepaid as mass consumers don’t have credit history. 40 percent of those prepaid phones are recharged at less than 20 cents at each recharge. That is the scale at which technology has liberated and made it accessible. And therefore technology has gone from being seen as something forbidding and intimidating to something that is empowering to each section of society. Two decades back when bank computerization was to be implemented, the reports never had quoted a Computer as computer rather it was mentioned as ledger posting machines because policy makers didn't want the unions to believe that they were actually computers. Similarly for more powerful computers they used advanced ledger posting machines in reports. So we have travelled a long way in reaching a point where the technology has become an instrument of empowerment and really has changed the way India thinks.

Next is that Indians today are far more comfortable with globalization. Again, after having lived for more than 200 years under the East India Company, Indians had a very natural reaction towards globalization initially taking it as a form of imperialism but today as Indians come and go abroad for working, they have gained a lot more confidence and have realized that globalization is something they can participate in. As we are the only young country in an aging world, makes globalization all the more attractive to Indians.

And finally, India has a depth in its democracy. It came as an elite concept. Today the masses have realized the benefits of having a voice and the power of vote. So democracy is become embedded in our culture.

" Ideas in Progress "

The next type of Ideas are Ideas in progress. Among them the one with utmost importantance is the question of education. For some reason, may be lack of money, priorities etc primary education was never given the focus it required. But now we have reached a point where it has become very critical. Unfortunately the government schools don't function well, so majority children are going to private schools. today. So there is a big challenge in getting the schools to work and being a young nation it is very necessary that the idea of primary education should be implemented properly.

Similarly, infrastructure. For a long time,it was not a priority but now it has something which is agreed upon and which people want to implement as it is reflected in the political statements. 20 years back the political slogan was, "Roti, kapra, makan," and today's political slogan is, "Bijli, sarak, paani," and this is a change in the mindset where infrastructure is now accepted. So I do believe this is an idea which has arrived but simply not implemented.

The third thing is again cities it's because Gandhi believed in villages and because the British ruled from the cities and therefore Nehru thought of New Delhi as an un-Indian city. That resulted in neglect of citites and that is reflected in the kinds of situations that you see. Today after economic reforms, and economic growth, we can count cities as engines of economic growth and innovation. So the drive to towards improving our cities has is to be driven along highway.

Next the notion of India as a single market because we have a situation where every state had its own market for products. As an individual state can’t live just on it’s own so the flow of resources from one state to another must be in free form. It is a form of internal globalization which is need to be focussed as much as external globalization.

                                       " Ideas in Battle "

Next type of ideas are Ideas in battle. Among them ther are our ideological issues. Our historical background has motivated caste system and many have been left out in the coldbut the worst is a lot of the politics is played which deals mostly with all unsurcupulous motives which results in reservation quotas and related techniques. We have sufficient left and right ideologies that too need to be concensus.

Next is the labor policies which create problems for entrepreneurs to create standardized jobs in companies. 93% of Indian labor is in the unorganized sector. They have no benefits or social security, pension or healthcare. This needs to be fixed we will never be able to achieve a formal workforce which is franchasied. New set of labor laws are needed to create more and more jobs.

The third thing is our higher education which needs to be completely regulated. Recent reforms have been escalated by Govt. as per on Yashpal Committee and gates for foreign universities have been opened now though we need to be in pace with India's demands. That is leading to a lot of problems which we need to address.

                                 " Ideas to Anticipate "

Finally ideas that need to be anticipated. We can always have a look what is happening in the World and figure out what best can be done. Best thing is that we are getting comfortable with technology and can use it for governance and many other issues of direct benefits.

The second thing is, the health issue. In fact India is in a state of replacing a set of poor country diseases with a set of rich country diseases which we need to rethink the whole way we look at health that need to put a new strategy to achieve a status of healthy nation.

Next India has responsibility towards environment too. Now why does these matters? Why does what's happening 10 thousand miles away at Ice caps matter to all of us? First of all we represent more than a billion people i.e. 1/6th of the world population. If we really want to come to a point, we really want to put a cap on our carbon emission. We want to really lower the use of energy. It has to be solved in countries like India. You know if you look at the development in the west over 200 years, the average growth may have been about two percent. Here we are talking about countries growing at eight to nine percent. And that makes a huge difference. When India’s growth rate was about 3.5%, the population growth was 2% and per capita income was doubling in every 45 years. When the economic growth goes to eight percent and population growth drops to 1.5 %, then per capita income is doubling every 9 years.

Certainly India is fast forwarding the entire process of a billion people going to prosperity and we should have clear strategies to classify what is important for India and what is important for world; and have a equal concern for them.

63rd Independence Day

"Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance."

Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru spoke these few lines while being sworn in as the first Prime Minister of independent India on midnight of 14th August 1947. India became independent on 15th August 1947 after a long hard fought battle against the British, a battle not fought by swords or guns but by the non-violent principles of Mahatma Gandhi, our ‘Father of the Nation’. The story of Indian Independence is unique in itself. It had all started by the ‘Sepoy Mutiny’ in 1857, which led to a series of independent events in all parts of the country. The mutiny was started by the Indians working for the British army. Due to their deep traditions they faced numerous social barriers. The forced use of certain controversial rifles led them to revolt against the officers of the British army, which led to scattered revolts because Indians formed 96 percent of the British army at that time. The revolt was put to an end quickly by the British mainly because of the lack of coordination and cooperation among all the kingdoms across the country. But it taught an important lesson to the British Empire, that India belongs to the Indians and that the British would have to leave it soon.

This mutiny was followed by the formation of the Indian National Congress in 1885, mainly to improve relations between the ruling British and Indian people, which led to the entry of educated middle class Indians into active politics and changed the Indian political scene. The INC as it was popularly called saw different eras with different kinds of people heading it at the forefront. The moderates held the first era with great leaders such as ‘Womesh Chandra Banerjee’ and ‘Dadabhai Navroji’. The next era saw the extremists come into power with great leaders in the form of ‘Bal Ganghadhar Tilak’ and ‘Lala Lajpat Rai’. India was slowly becoming a merciless nation hungry for the blood of the British under these revolutionary leaders and also by new rising ones in the form of ‘Subhash Chandra Bose’, ‘Chandra Shekhar Azad’, and the legendary revolutionary ‘Bhagat Singh’.

It seemed at that time that India was losing control and the fight was becoming more personal than that for the country. It was not until Mahatma Gandhi came to the rescue of India and instilled in the people a wholly new concept of ‘non-violence’, which had been tried and tested by him in South Africa. This new breeze of confidence unified the country into a common fight for independence. Every person, every family, every house in the country was singing praises of the Mahatma and was following the principles put forward by him. His followers included the great ‘Jawaharlal Nehru’ and ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ who were already among the young leaders of the INC. It was this lot of great men that took India on a great ride towards that ‘tryst with destiny’ and gave birth to the largest democracy in the World.

It is virtually impossible to account for every detail of the Indian struggle for independence in a few words. I could have written a few hundred pages and still would have found that I haven’t included many of the things, which need to be there. But instead I thought that the true meaning, the true essence of Independence comes from what India and Indians have achieved in 63 years since the day Pundit Nehru and those great leaders made their ‘tryst with destiny’. The idea here is not to present a chronological summary of all the achievements of India, but to account for those years after Independence in which India and Indians had to fight to give it the status and the power that it enjoys today. It is very easy to point out things that have gone wrong, things that are still going wrong. But to account for all the good things is a tremendous task. India—the largest democracy in the World today is still rated as a third world country. Why? As per the latest ratings India is the fastest growing economies in Asia and the World. Indian economy is slated to rise by 7.4 percent in 2009-10.  Indian industry came out bravely out of global recession especially the IT sector has created waves all over the World how it managed to recover quickly. India has been described as the next Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical hub in Asia. And people still ask the same question—what has India achieved in 63 years of independence? Has the corruption decreased in India? What has India done to reduce the poverty? My question to these people is which country today does not have any problems? The idea is not to escape from these questions but merely questioning each other will not get solutions. Solutions have to be sought by asking ourselves what we have done to improve the living conditions in our own country? What has been our contribution to our country and the countless people who have given their lives to see that our life today is meaningful?

India—was once upon a time a temple of learning. It was the place where people from all over the world came to study in great universities of Nalanda, Takshashila etc. It was the place where ‘Aryabhatta’ discovered the ‘zero’. Often called as the ‘golden bird’, India was the place where every trader wanted to do business. The ruins of ‘Mohenjodaro’ and ‘Harappa’ speak volumes about the existence of a very modern civilization, the first of its kind in India. Well if this was pre-independence era then what have we achieved in all these years of independence? First of all India is a Socialist and Secular Democratic Republic. It is a microcosm of many religions, many traditions, cultures, languages etc. There is so much diversity when one travels from one end to another. Still people live in communal harmony. India today enjoys a position of power in Asia. In the fields of Science and Technology India has carved a niche for itself in the World. India has been supplying the World with many Nobel Laureates over the years, to name a few ‘Dr. C. V. Raman’, ‘Dr. Subramanyan Chandrashekhar’ and recently ‘Dr. Amartya Sen’. In the fields of Information Technology there is no other competitor for India. And as I mentioned earlier India is slated to be the next Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology hub in Asia. India can today boast of its own missile defence system, indigenous nuclear energy and space technology programmes.

India has always been the land of spiritual development. It has been the birthplace of non-temporal values and attitudes like renunciation, meditation, the physico-psychic discipline of yoga etc. In terms of arts Indian film Industry is one of the largest in the World, and the works of Indian directors are appreciated by one and all. How can one forget the World famous concert of ‘Yanni’, which was held in Agra near the ‘Taj Mahal’ India can also boast of World famous musicians in Tabla maestro Zakir Hussian, vocalist Pundit Bhimsen Joshi etc. Indians are among the richest in the World—Mukesh Ambani - Chairman of Reliance Industries, Ratan Tata—Chairman of Tata Group; they are amongst the richest and most successful Indians in the World.
You might be wondering why am I talking about individuals here, well Indians are the ones who have made India proud. And India today is in this position because of them. The achievements of India in past years have been phenomenal. To cite all of them here would be impossible. My only question to all of you is ‘Has any other country achieved so much in so little time?’

People still argue that India has a lot more to achieve. Well I would say ‘Yes’ because if one has achieved everything, then where would the need arise to be better? But for every achievement there has to be a first step and I say that India has crossed that step. It is not easy to carry the likes of different kinds of people in today’s World and make them think alike. But the struggle is going on and I say we are doing a good job. I agree basic needs like education, sanitation, reduction of poverty; corruption and dramatic changes in standards of living are required. I agree we need a political system, which is more stable, and governance is free and just. But as I said earlier merely talking will not solve the problem.

Today the time has come to make another ‘tryst with destiny’, to rise and salute the land that has given us our life, our freedom, to help our country in whichever way it is possible. India needs us today. It needs the courage and determination of every Indian on the face of this Earth to help it achieve the place every Indian has dreamt of. A French Philosopher named ‘Romain Rolland’ once quoted

"If there is one place on the face of this Earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when Man began the dream of existence, it is India."

It is this India which I dream of. We need to dedicate our life to my country. It doesn't means you need to join army and have to fight wars; it means that we need to do our job with honesty and our full potential and should be a responsible citizen. That's it.........

I have woken up from the deep sleep. It’s time for you to wake up too.

My Sporty Life

I’m not good at sports and I accept it.I know that in India, which takes its sports very seriously, such an announcement will be greeted ina normal fashion. One is not expected to discuss person’s infirmities in public after all. It just isn’t done. Nevertheless it’s true. Don’t get me wrong, I love playing and would be the first to rush out every evening to collect the fellows and play in garage. Then we would play cricket, football or whatever we could have in one those huge empty plots of land which colonies used to abound in a few years ago. But I never really excelled in anything.

Football would always be hectic, as I would pant after the ball which used to rush away from me as if it were a hen . When at long last I would manage to corner the ball I would be so exhausted that I would end up unfailingly kicking it towards my own goal or giving ball to none other than my own goalkeeper. No wonder the opposing team used to be so fond of me. If I had their vote I would be playing in the World Cup today. And the one time I did manage to score a goal for my own side, there was a clap of thunder the next second and the match was cancelled due to a rainstorm.

When I grew older, and taller, I decided to try out basketball. I reasoned that since there were fewer players involved I’d have a better chance of making contact with the ball. I wish I’d known that I was destined to end up facing the team with the tall boys. Oh yes, I’d get the ball occasionally but mostly it was trying to weave through giant obstacles.

One more sport which gave me truly unforgettable memories, is cricket. I’ve always held that there just isn’t something natural about a game where players spent most of the time standing and sweating in the sun. But since it was practically a religion among youths of my age, I had no choice but to join in the festivities every evening. In time I developed such a unique style of playing that it was all my playmates could do to stop themselves from viewing my game. When there was task of fielding, balls would either sail through my fingers as if they were made of thin air and bounce along over the boundary line.

As for bowling, let’s not even talk about that because the mere suggestion of me bowling would give my opponent team a golden opportunity to double their run rate. It was batting, however, which I loved, even though I spent an incredibly brief time doing it. Every time the bowler bowled in my direction, I was always ready with an ambition to deliver a big hit but unfortunately it's parabolic path ends up in safe hands of  opponent team player.

However, there was one wonderful upside to being bad in sports. In the rare few instances when I did ‘catch out’ a person or manage to score a goal or a Sixer there would be a minute of stunned silence and then both teams – yes, both – would burst into hearty applause. And that, my friends, was one moment I wouldn’t have traded for anything in the world.

Before I completed my school years, I tried swimming, I was so surprised. I was so relaxed in the water, it felt amazing. Mainly, I like to have fun and swimming is all about having fun, and I got something that you can do for pure enjoyment rather than for victory. I started enjoying every bit of it, on water surface or under water; everything gave me immense pleasure and it still continuing to attract my attention towards it. While I'm swimming, I sing songs in my mind. While I'm swimming, I am the master of my own. Finally I got a sports which suited me.
I love swimming ; it's awesome and finally somewhere I can be tagged as sporty.

Why my phone isn't ringing ?

It has been days and my phone isn’t ringing neither do I am getting any message. Nobody sending any CID PJs or some programming joke. No one present now with whom you can curse your professors or do autopsy of semester paper marking scheme. No one asking “Kitna ho gaya”. There is no one left in hostel who can give refuge at boring times. There are no notes left which is to be Xerox now nor there is any slide to upload on class blog. It’s hard to realize the reality that it’s over now and my college life has ended. In school we all were waiting eagerly to rush into college and now we are about to rush to jobs or higher studies. Important thing is the realization of the change. Now I am heading towards bigger goals in life and take a plunge in the rat race. I hate it but can’t avoid it. Every phase in life is supposed to be enjoyed and I thoroughly enjoyed my college life discounting some of the bad incidents. It was a life full of Ups and Downs though more downs than ups but it hardly matters because sometimes you enjoy misery too.

Most important part of the college life is that it teaches you a lot. It teaches you to bear patience and endurance. It teaches you how to manage your time and run with the deadlines. It teaches you how to maintain calm at hectic times and to celebrate with full heart when it finishes. It teaches you to deal with each and every type of person present on Earth; The good, the bad and the weird.

But it’s not just full of bad things, it’s a wonderful platform where blending of different cultures happens. It’s a place where you meet different people and understand the similarities and varieties present in variant cultures. It’s a place where you experience the hidden good things of society. It’s a place where you make friends and do extreme stuffs for them and cross all rules to help them. Actually friends are the ones that give life to the college building else everything is lifeless. Human relationships are more complicated than any artificial neural network and you experience its variant shades for the first time in college life only. You start caring for people whom you never knew before college and feels bad when they leave to their new destinations.

Regarding studies I can say we study in Gigabytes and finally left with few Kilobytes and sometimes few bytes but this is not important at all; the most important are life’s lessons of taking responsibility of your own and showing maturity in dealing hard times. This is the real thing that college rewards you after four years. This has worth much more than that entire college curriculum can be counted of.

Overall it’s like a mini-world that you develop in a quest from Engineer to “Imagineer”. Whatever happens the moments becomes everlasting in your life.
It seemed like seconds…but when I looked back and realized, it was four years that I had spent in college. There have been numerous times when I have cursed the hectic college days and a lot many days when I have felt that college should end immediately! But when college was finally wrapping up its play, it took a heavy toll on my heart. Just like a kid who is desperate to have a candy, I am very desperate to have those beautiful college days back. There can be no substitute for all that we had in college and I will certainly miss my college days for eternity.

“We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories. Some take us forward, they're called dreams. I want to create a one that bridges these two and will do whatever it takes”

Highlights of 4 Years of Adventure

  • Lecture not always teach you something and usually students don't want to study either. The guy who get most benefit from this is the person who owns the "Tapri" near the college.

  •  Rules are made to be broken but deadlines are made to be extended. It always work in Engineering life that is sure.

    • At the end of everything the teacher giving abundant marks is the one who is most respected.

    •  There is always a lecturer who speaks funny "English".

    • Most of the time you debate with other branch people that whose branch is the best one.

    • About completing the practical lab file, there is always a master copy which will help you last night.

    • How many  renowned authors books you study it doesn't matters; the only Brahmastra that can fetch you good marks is the xerox of the notes of the person who attended classes regularly.

    • However early you plan to study for the end semester exam, you will not become serious until the last 24 hours starts running out.

    • Vivas are the most insulting periods of the Engineering life; no one can escape it. This is time you have been reminded of your sins of the past semester.

    • Backlogs is the only thing which you fear in Engineering life else nothing can scare you off.

    • Every semester you will have a subject which you will not able to understand a bit of it though you will develop caliber to fill pages and pages on it in semester exam.

    • Everyone enters Fourth Year with the mindset of having a "good placement" and a "first class" tag to their memo.

    • The first three years are spent in cursing the college administration, the people, the system and all but at the end of fourth year people become nostalgic about the pure unadulterated fun they had in past four years. Now the same system they disliked, the same canteen which they complain, the time they spent in mass bunks, the birthday bums they suffered, the treats they enjoyed all these seems as heaven.

    Sone Bhi Do Yaaron

I don’t care what anyone says, but the worst thing in the world for me is when my alarm used to go off in the morning and I knew I had to get my exhausted body out of bed and rush to go wherever the hell I was going. My body jerked out of bed at the sound of the pulsating box that was trying to let me know I had to get up, and I would do anything to fight it. The snooze button got so worn out that it became inoperable. I knew I had to do something drastic or this damn alarm clock was going to run my whole life. So what did I do? I left it at the place at Shankar Nagar where I used to live previously after I left there. I was through with the constant stress it put on my every morning, sometimes jolting me out of bed so fast, it caused neck strain.

I cannot see, in any way, how using an alarm clock is healthy. Sure, it may be “effective” for someone who needs to be awake at a certain time, like a farmer or whatever, but besides that, if you have to be awake at a certain time in the morning, isn’t there a less stressful way to do it? I don’t know. I really don’t know. But what I do know is that I am not going to let a piece of technology rule my life unless it is a computer. I am not going to let something that tells me what time it is and what time to wake up rule my life. So I thought of different ways I could get rid of this dependence on alarm clocks.

The first thing I came up with was working with my subconscious mind and intuition. They have an internal clock within them and if I need to be up a certain time, and am conscious of it, and ask my body to wake myself up, then usually it will. It worked for me with a success rate of 2 out of 100 times for me. Considering this high success rate I went back to alarms often use a back-up alarm just in case, fifteen minutes after I am originally supposed to wake up, so if I am already awake, I can turn it off before it shocks the hell out of me. I hate being startled when in a deep state of dreaming. Setting my mental alarm is something that works when I have to wake up at a certain time, which is rarely at best and probably never works in exam days. I doubt that anyone has such a laid-back lifestyle where getting up early does not factor into their life. But right now, I do. I can wake up anytime before 10 am and still have a productive day. It is not the quantity of the time you spend awake, but the quality.

So I do not have a set time of going to bed or waking up whatsoever. I am not really limited by going to bed too late or waking up too early, as long as I really don’t have anything to really be at at a certain time, except my college, which starts late, 10-30 AM but on Saturday it is earlier, but that does happen just once a week. I feel it is the best way to live your life, sleeping as much as you feel you need by sleeping until you wake up. Your alarm clock doesn’t know how much sleep you need to feel rested, but your body does.

I feel that whenever I am awaken by my alarm clock, I do not feel rested throughout the day. I feel exhausted most of the time, whereas if I wake up when I need to wake up, based on my biological and internal clocks, I feel more rested and don’t constantly feel the need to close my eyes at every turn. In school days, having my eyes closed in class and pretending to look on the black board was a constant theme for me. I used to call those sessions as "Micro-sleeps" Closing my eyes was something I loved to do. Every day I used come home exhausted, but had to run again to coaching classes which was once again a 10km roll on my Bicycle same distance as was my school. I don’t think the problem was the distance itself. It was that I went to bed too late and was jolted awake by my alarm clock. Another thing was I was inactive at school for the most part, as all you really do all day is sit in a chair at a desk and listen to some guy drone on about scoring 90+ percentage in CBSE Board exams and related strategies and whatever usual crap which is thrown on students.
Computer class was the only class I could keep my eyes open.

I have chosen a life, so far, at this moment, that is not dependent on alarm clocks for functionality. I am not sure if anyone else is interested in doing so, but I feel it is the best way to live for optimum fulfillment. If you go to bed early enough, you can still be an early riser and catch the worm or whatever activities you do while up at the crack of dawn. I have heard, and this is scientific, that the optimum time to go to sleep is between 9 PM and 11 PM, as hormones are released in your body from 11 PM until 1 AM to enrich your sleep, but if you aren’t asleep, then they won’t do you much good. This is something I have tried to work upon entire Engineering Student life but never succeeded in it i.e. getting to bed earlier. Because in College Life it’s not like you do all things on time, point is you do all the work in the last hours of last night and remain on time. Once I thought I should read something boring to induce sleep at around 11 and fall gradually asleep but it never happens, now I become more active and agile as night grows.

I have removed all alarm clocks from my room and no longer own, except on my cell phone, which I use mostly for reminders of certain things I have to do. It is more of a calendar alarm clock and is not used to wake me up, but rather to catch me while I am awake and remind me of things I need to do, like doing my assignments on time or eat on time. With that said, I am going to go eat the remaining cake kept in fridge of my parent's anniversary and enjoy my alarm-free day.

    Dirt Flying Everywhere

Imagine for continuously few days NEWS channels are showing what Agriculture Minister did regarding cricket policies, what Agriculture Minister did regarding cricketers selection criteria, what Agriculture Minister did regarding promoting cricket in rural areas. After this you will certainly get a feeling why the situation of Agriculture and Cricket is like this in India.

Indian Agriculture Minister Mr. Sharad Pawar yesterday held came after long long meeting and announced that whatever IPL decision are to be taken they will be decided by governing body; I will not interfere. I hardly remember what was the last time when he came after a meeting and gave a press conference to show his concern over increasing farmer suicides, concern over rising grain prices, concern over bitterness of sugar prices, concern over extra yield that is decaying outside warehouses. Indeed he and many of them are concerned about another yield; but this yield is not of grains and pulses that grow in field, this yield is of different thing ; it is of money that grows in cricket fields.
From past one week there has been a cleaning campaign, not of cleaning roads, not of cleaning dirty ponds and river shores, not of cleaning beaches but it is of cleaning of images on account of deeds done by people in our nation who are as being projected as modern statesmen and businessman. Shashi Tharoor said he has unconditional love and respect for Kerala and can do anything for it. He told he did to promote Kerala, he has nothing to do with personal monetary benefit from IPL. Vijay Mallya clarified his daughter works under Lalit Modi but she is his step daughter. Next Praful Patel says his daughter is too associated in IPL campaigning and works as intern but he has nothing to do with any benefit from IPL. Sharad Pawar's daughter clarifies their family never had any monetary benefit from IPL. Why we are provided with clarification, why we are being forced to show the intentions are earnest, why we are being forced to take this. Even if we think that wasn't there was any dirt that is being tried to cleaned forcefully , would the reality be changed ? These are people who are part of high elite societies that want to present their clean eyes before us. Why we are being forced to understand that there wasn't any mess. Even if we are forced to learn that will the reality would change? Absolutely not.
This time it will matter, and must too and public's response will come to them sooner or later in one form or other. It could be public's decision in elections or public frustration in violent form.

Well leaving the dirty politics; it is important also to have concern over dirt spreading in European skies from past 15 days. The volcanic eruption happened on a island in Iceland , the skies above it were utilized enormously for trans-Atlantic airlines. After the eruption happened enormously amount of shoot, dirt and ashes started spreading in skies like a enormous dense cloud. This affected airlines. The loss airlines companies are facing is even bigger than the one that occurred after stoppage of public airlines after 9/11 attack. More than 16 lac passenger's tickets have been canceled and enormous passengers are still stuck somewhere. Eruptions have stopped now but still it is risky. This is a message by nature that how cruel it can become. I am not saying eruptions are occurring due to some human activity but I am saying humans should give space for everything, we should give space for forests, we should give space for rivers, ponds, we should give air for volcanoes too. The sky above volcanoes should be left alone, they should not be used to enhance monetary benefits and utilized as air routes. So, volcanoes should be given some air to live. Already lots of hyped Global Environment Conferences were organized but when it was time for taking serious actions for future; human greed takes over everything.

I hope all dirt gets settled down as soon as possible.

    It's Showtime

The picture below is not for comparison; it's just to enjoy the spirit of PRINCE

I was waiting for a long time to write something on this cool movie but got stuck with Artificial Intelligence paper. The coolness of movie can't be expressed by a mere blog post but a detailed thesis can be done for it. This movie will be remembered for years not for showing high profile intelligent diamond heists but for setting benchmarks for making a perfect action movie.

First of all let me congratulate the producer on having the intellectual capacity to not add a kooky subtitle in an attempt to make it ‘hip’ and ‘happening’. Something like ‘Prince – The Yuvraaj’ or ‘Prince – The Raja’ or ‘Prince – Ek Chota Rajputra Ki Badi Kahani’.

Main attraction of the movie : Tattooed version of Nandana Sen , a villian named Sarang that has a Terminator style super arm.Vivek Oberoi as the lead "Prince" has the easiest role, his lack of acting prowess is shielded by the repeated head-holding and falling-on-ground sequences

The movie opens with a shot of the heavily secure swanky multi-storey headquarters of the Diamond Corporation of India(DCOI), which has more gadgetry and security systems than the FBI and CIA put together. Let us put behind us that there are such establishments in the country and also the fact that they offer free tours of their security systems to every dork disguised as a sardar.

He then suits up in the lamest leather available and hides in the air-ducts, not before uttering the 2nd best line of the movie,"I’m in and it’s time to win“. After having navigated laser beams, fingerprint mechanisms he uses a laser pen to cut through a window, which in the previous scene was described to be strong enough to resist a powerful bomb blast. That’s not it, for there’s a giant vacuum cleaner that doubles as a periscope and reaches the top floor window from a van outside. You’d assume that he’d just bag the diamonds and then drop them into the van, but in what is the flavor of the season they are vacuumed into the van from the top floor of a multi-storey building. Just so that you can estimate the height of the building, in the very next scene while being chased by the guards, Prince base-jumps of the building and pulls the ripcord of his parachute to land safely on the van. If you’re reading this with your mouth wide open, then hold on to that expression for a while. This was only the opening sequence before the titles take over and Atif Aslam wakes you up from the CGI-induced slumber. “Oh mere khuda” indeed, but only for making such a movie with the craziest indipop album type music video.

Prince suddenly wakes up with a bullet lodged in his arm, unable to remember a thing and the only thing worse than his lame expressions is lines like “main kaun hoon, main kahan hoon..........Meri yadaasht aachanak kaise chali gayi”.

Prince is now sought after by the CBI and two white collar dons for he posses information about “The coin”.So if you’re wondering how Jason Bourne finds the coin and takes it to destroy it, then you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Turns out that there are three women vying for his attention claiming to be romantically involved, each with an even interesting back story. What is even more interesting is that each of them is named Maya and has an ulterior motive with the coin in question.
Now we have Maya-1, a  club dancer and Maya-2, a CBI officer. As Maya-2 enters she proves maya-1 as fake, later Maya-2 double crosses Prince as she is a partner of our Terminator villian but before anything happens to Prince,  Maya-3 has a introduction scene where she rains bullets from machine guns strapped to a hand-glider, followed by more bullet rains , bike flying sequences that will give complexion to Rajni and BalaKrishna. Maya-3 presents us with a killer back story where in, she and Prince collude with the CBI to stage the funkiest robbery ever known. Turns out the coin is a facade for carrying a embedded chip developed by the country’s top biotechnologists, and it enables downloading the entire contents of the human brain downloading the entire contents of the human brain only to replicate them and upload them into another. Prince is strapped to a chair and his brain is mapped using the chip, the progress of which seems to go faster than what it takes winrar to install on a machine. What about the fact that the human brain can store  terabytes worth of data, were they lying of is Prince pulling a fast one on you? I found it weird at first but then realized that if you’ve signed a movie like this then surely you only have enough grey matter than can be downloaded under two-minutes. That explains how they did an format disk on him and the so-called seizures he gets. The reason I use computer jargon here is because, it is the closest to equating system-crashes and reboots to his brain trying multiple unsuccessful auto-restore.

More unintentional comedy ensues with Bond style chases, gunfights and CGI-mockery before he finally finds the coin everyone is after. This is where Maya-1 gets bumped off  not before the best line the movie is used, “maine uske aankhon mein laalach ka virus scan kar liya tha”.
An absurd climax sees Maya-3 decimate Maya-2,  while Jason Bourne and our Terminator Villian engage in a duel on an overturned vehicle going downstream which is drifting into a humongous waterfall.  Prince rips apart the iron-fist and uses his mini-harpoon to cling onto a nearby chopper, leaving Sarang to fall to his fate.

I know by now nobody even cares but it’s time to pick up the shattered pieces of our brains around the chair and recover from his high tech heist saga that will be unforgettable for many years unless it's sequel comes.

A note to all CBZ/Karizma lovers who are mostly fans of Vivek Oberoi as well, doing a wheelie while with your girl too on bike then looking romantically in her eyes is not probably the best idea because you may want to keep an eye on the road as well.

Lastly, I don't care now of writing a crap blog post because there are people who could have donated money to noble cause rather than investing 50 crore bucks in making the lamest Desi-Matrix till date.

1st April : Is it really funny

Europeans started April 1st as fools day on behalf of confusion over new year's date. Centuries past and people transformed it into varied versions. MTV India started Bakra Din in late 90's and carried on April's fools day.
To Indians it is a very important day also because it marks the starting of financial year. Banks are busy day and night auditing their entire last year's records. It marks starting of new session in schools.

If we want a day to enjoy it as a fool's day then almost everyday we have many instances. CAT was a joke which IIMs played when they made it online and questions repeated again and again, servers crashed and havoc was created just because few people felt pen and pencil test is not so cool. Mayawati played joke to democracy when she wore a garland of notes whose total worth was in few crores, she made a committee to find how bee hive was present near his lavish rally when a town in Uttar Pradesh was burning in Hindu-Muslim riots. My College usually does jokes to us on regular basis, don't wanna get started on that. That's not enough there are numerous instances which I can point out but it would be better in leaving those.
After 7 years, today India kicked off the national census of its billion-plus population with a 2.5 million strong army of census-takers fanning out across the country to conduct what has been billed the world’s largest administrative exercise. Over the next six months, census-takers, or ‘enumerators,’ will travel across more than 630,000 villages and over 5,000 cities in the country to visit every structure that serves as a home to put together a national data base. This information will be used for creation of Unique Identification Number. Every Indian will have a number; long ago saw a Abhishek Bacchan's IDEA advertisement "Ab har koi number ke naam se jana jayega".It will now be a reality very soon. From skyscrapers to tin shanties, census takers will note details such as the availability and sources of drinking water and electricity, and the type of construction material used in your house's floor and wall, how many phones are there in family and internet users and internet connections. Today saw this form in news channel and was wondering how much governmental interference is being increasing day by day. The information is quite sensitive that's why it feels sometime that Government is interfering in our lives.
If we are concerned with Government interference then sometimes it never bother to interfere also , best example is when Narendra Modi never became interested in interfering when entire Gujrat was burning in riots.  Few days back finally  he was questioned by the Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team and today there are signs that Nanawati Commission might question him too. The heat of fire that burnt Gujrat is now seems to showing some impact on Modi who is constantly trying to be Mahamta Gandhi via his blog.
Also today is a very important day to all Indians because Right for Education is implemented. Now children from age 6 to 14 years will get necessary education. Education will change drastically no doubt. Though still there are issues like there are schools which are producing "Bhartiya Nagrik" which start their life as clerks or constables and maximum rise to senior clerk or Head Constable. There are also schools which are producing "Indian Citizens" who join corporate sectors and become Vice Preseidents and CEOs. Right to education is nice policy but right to same type of education is also important. Don't know if common people will be able to educate their kids in Dun or Scindia School or other prestigious schools. Hindi is considered to be Rashtriya Bhasa but still it's a Raj Bhasa. Most of the important work whether it is Governmental or Corporates or Technologists , English is used ; so English education is important too if we are not ready to open sufficient job gates associated with other languages.
Well ending today's newspaper discussions, still 1st April fool is going on. So still you can think that we can have more fool days.
This is Sister's Week. So all of you wish your sisters. Also this is Girlfriend's week too . Wish them too!!!

    What the heck is happiness

In the morning, I was discussing with my sister regarding the reasons of being Happy. She asked me to go through a lecture on TED.com and to read the famous Indian philosophy

    कर्मण्ये वाधिकारस्ते म फलेषु कदाचना
    कर्मफलेह्तुर भुरमा ते संगोस्त्वकर्मानी॥

In the afternoon got a text from a  friend who asked what is happiness. I was completely bewildered to express answer to him. Few hours ago read a blog post written by another friend who gave this answer through a beautiful story. Finally saw that phenomenal lecture suggested by my sister.

The important thing that finally came out of these events was exploring really what is that we feel and one thing is sure it's nice but the point is what is that which we feel it and how to distinguish this thing from other things.

In programming we have a control structure

    if condition
    then

    tasks

Our feeling of happiness has been getting stuck with this structure like if I have lot of money, I will buy a expensive car and become happy; If I will be in a relationship with a girl I will have a emotional push up and hormonal pump up and become happy; If I will get more marks I will be popular and become happy and so on.

This if-then clause is never good at all. When life starts getting into conditional clauses, things will start getting down one day even if it looks superbly prosperous. We always remain in pursuit of something which we call it happiness, which we don't even know whether we got it at a particular instance of time or not but we always remain in it's search. We feel this is boring let's shift to something else or another and so on but we never able to tune up with the correct frequency. We put task list and not able to fulfill it we start feeling odd. We never get out of the race.

The important thing which we sometimes forget is to realize is accepting the things in a natural manner i.e. as it is. If we start taking things as a experience, things start changing a bit. There are times when we feel some spectacular beauty which took us outside of ourselves to a place of great serenity. For example watching a beautiful rainbow, valley or a mountain, we feel as if something exceptionally wonderful and heavenly thing is being kept before us. This happens probably because we are ready somehow to accept the universe as it is rather than what conditions we put in it. This is what we feel, this is what I can say is roughly happiness is. We never say "This valley is beautiful but if I would have seen it on that day or with someone , it would have been more beautiful". This is how we are putting conditional clauses inside our lives.

Recently I visited Lucknow at my cousin's home. Her 16 month old daughter is a superbly enthusiastic and joyful member of her family. Her daughter loves to imitate everyone, plays in dust and sand, likes dancing when music channel is switched on, remains enthusiastic for learning everything around her irrespective of the thought how she is gonna do it or what will be the outcome and whenever you look towards her she will give you one of the world's sweetest smile you ever have seen. This is what is happiness . The moment you engage yourself in the process without thinking out what will be the outcome, without caring what will be the scenario's result whether it will give you publicity or not, whether you will be well known among your peers  or not, whether you will have some monetary benefit or not and many more things. The point is engaging yourselves in such a way that you start focusing on our present and living it with passion terminating the thoughts of aftermath of it.

Small kids are always happy, in computer terms I would say they are happy by default. In computer terminology functionality which is provided from the initial designing, those which are inherent, remains unchanged are said to be hardwired. Happiness is hardwired in human body's design from the time of birth, small kids just enjoy this feeling in everything that they do. When we grow up we start shifting from this hardwired functionality to if-then clause model. From there we starts drifting on the road where we finally start feeling that now life sucks. This outcome occurs because the clause model is faulty , no matter how much it sustains giving ourselves a nice feeling whenever we accomplish the conditional task, one day it will start malfunctioning and things starts appearing to be messed up. Now it's the time to drift back to the original road.  It's time to focus on process rather than on outcome.

For those for whom the clause model is giving them pleasure continue with that may be someday you may need to change tracks and for those like me who are frustrated with scenarios around them it's time to change.

It's time to plug into our Hardwired Happiness and live the rest of our life in a better way.
