Most of the ardent followers of Mahatma Gandhi have won Nobel Peace Prize but its irony he never got one, the latest being President Obama to get this prestige, but again why Gandhi wasn’t able to get it even nominated for five times . Committees give different reasons for why Gandhi wasn’t given the honor.
Mahatma Gandhi showed the world that anything can be achieved by non violence, how can this be ignored. He was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and 1948. He was shortlisted thrice in final list too but committee gives their so called suitable reasons why he wasn’t selected as the recipient of Nobel Prize.
One of the committee member was also of the view that he was “No real politician or proponent of international law, not primarily a humanitarian relief worker and not an organizer of international peace Congress“
When Mahatma Gandhi was first nominated in 1937, the selection committee’s adviser Prof Jacob Worm-Muller was critical about him. “He is undoubtedly a good, noble and ascetic person -- a prominent man who is deservedly honored and loved by masses. There are sharp turns in his policies which can hardly be satisfactorily explained by his followers...He is a freedom fighter and a dictator, an idealist and a nationalist. He is frequently a Christ, but then, suddenly an ordinary politician,” he had commented, according to the Nobel Foundation.
Worm-Muller also quoted that he is not a consistent pacifist, his non violent policies are degenerating violence and anger.
Clearly the critics were able to find answers on whatever hypothetical background they kept their reasons, well talking about Mr. Obama isn’t it too early to give someone a peace Nobel Prize, whose scrutiny takes a hell lot mess to decide whether a person deserves it or not ,the commitee that is yet to realize the contribution of Gandhi for peace keeping had sorted out Obama's contibution pretty quickly . One thing I want to say if someone can achieve this via a small term work and if he/she happens to be in the most limelight job then I can say there are more American gentlemen who surely deserve Nobel Peace prize in future like Software Mogul BillG or Warren Buffet by donating money for Philanthrophic activites in developing nations .
The important thing that comes out after such award that by not honoring Gandhi with Nobel Peace Prize, the importance of Gandhi, his values, his legacy will never diminish though the authenticity of award like Nobel will go down.

It is pathetic to know that Mahatma Gandhi never won a noble prize because of some silly reasons as recorded by the committies, I'm not sure how many times world did this but the oity is that we always wait for others to recognize us ..
** We wait for oscars for our films to be the best in the world
**We wait for foreign researchers to validate our scientific theories (best eg for the same is JC Bose whose original work was stolen by Marconi as proved now)
**We wait for them to tell us where our origins where from ?? (eg Aryans never invaded India the civilization of India was more than 5000BC old and very flourishing not merely naked Indian's but they wil never accept this bz for them time starts from AD , so they moulded our history and we waited blankly for another of their researchers to prove INDIANS ARE CIVILIZED)
** We wait till they get our prime spices/trees(haldi tulsi neem etc and our born Yoga to be patented by them...
the question is why ??? why do we give them a stature so BIG that we have to wait for their approval???
We have our bodies our agencies competent enough to do such things why have we to wait and cry if they dont give us approval...
when we do cry they would feel happier bz they know they wanted us to cry and feel pity on ourselves and that is exactly what we are letting them do????
WHY??
we still dont know ..when we dont care about our society we stand out to say look we are diff and our standards are diff why have we to follow them??
The problem is here WE DONOT RESPECT OURSELVES ..
RESPECTING OTHERS IS GOOD BUT NEVER AT THE COST OF SELF RESPECT..
WE HAVE AFTER CENTURIES FORGOTTEN THAT OUR VALUES STAND A 100 TIMES MUCH STRONGER TO THEM..
YES WE HAVE FORGOTTEN TO VALUE OURSELVES BZ WE GIVE THEM EVERY WAY TO DOMINATE OURSELVES..
IF WE REALLY WANT TO GET RECOGNITION WE HAVE TO PAVE OUR WAY CHANGE OUR MIGHTY THOUGHT PROCESS THAT WE ARE ANY WAY LESS THAN THEM BZ WE DONT HAVE FAIR SKIN .. OUR STANDARDS HAVE TO BE SO HIGH THAT EVEN THEY ARE BOUND TO RECOGNIZE THIS..
WE HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE OUR INSITITUTIONS LIKE IIT'S AND IIM'S HAVE PROVEN THEIR METAL , MAY BE ITS TIME WE CARE FOR OUR STANDARDS MORE THAN THEIRS ...
ITS LIKE THE SAME TRP BUSS THE MORE YOU HATE & YOU STILL SEE THE MORE YOU ARE BOUND TO SEE SAME THINGS BZ THE TRP IS HIGH THEY WILL REPEAT THE LOOP..
END THE LOOP AND STOP VALUING THEM..
Sorry the comment was really long but i just got frustrated thinking all this..
I wish all Indian's realize this and know we have to prove ourselves better than them and set our standards as world standards... not fight and try prove ourselves better than each other..
